Nourishing Families Before the Blessed Month
About This Program
Ramadan is a time for ibadah, reflection, and gratitude. But when a family is stressed about where the next meal will come from, that focus becomes very difficult. We started the Ramadan Care Package Drive so that needy families in our community could enter the blessed month with their pantries full and their minds at ease.
Each year, before Ramadan begins, we distribute grocery packages to Muslim families across Central New Jersey. If you are aware of a family that is struggling, please encourage them to reach out to us. Packages go directly to those who need them most.
What Is in Each Package
Each package is assembled with a large size of each item listed below. (This list varies every year depending on the cost and availibility). The approximate retail value is $150 to $175 per package. We encourage our donors to sponsor multiple packages.
- Dates, Basmati Rice, Cooking Oil, Flour, Sugar
- Tea and Creamer, Honey and Jelly
- Pancake Mix and Syrup, Oatmeal and Cereal
- 2 Types of Cookies, Pasta and Pasta Sauce
- Rawa and Sooji, Vermicelli
- Black Eyed Peas, Red Kidney Beans, Black Masoor, Chick Peas
- Fried Onions
Register or Refer a Family
To register a family or refer someone in need, please contact us as early as possible before Ramadan begins. Both Zakat and Sadaqah are accepted for this program.
