Eid-Al-Fitr — Let Them Celebrate Eid Just Like You Do
About This Program
Eid-Al-Fitr is the celebration that follows a month of fasting, worship, and drawing closer to Allah. Every Muslim family, no matter their financial situation, deserves to celebrate it properly. That is the heart of this program.
Each year, in the final days of Ramadan, we collect Fitrah contributions from the community and use them to assemble and distribute Eid baskets to underprivileged Muslim families across New Jersey. We encourage everyone to pay Fitrah for their entire household.
All funds are handled in full compliance with the Islamic conditions governing Fitrah. 100% of what is collected goes directly to the families. Our administrative expenses are zero.
What Is in Each Basket
- 10 lbs of rice and food staples for the Eid meal
- Food boxes and select grocery items
- Eid basket with festive treats and goodies
- Eid money for the family
- Gift cards so families can purchase what they need most
- Goodie bags for the children
- Many gift items. Items change every year, some of the previous years items have been perfume, clocks, 8x10 rugs, sheet sets, beach towels eetc.
How We Handle Fitrah
Fitrah (Zakat Al-Fitr) is an obligation with specific Islamic conditions. Below is each condition and exactly how Care & Share Foundation NJ complies with it. This is based on guidance that we seek from local Scholars.
